ATP certification program featured in radio interview

Assistive Technology Radio, the only AT radio station streaming 24/7 on the Internet, interviewed RESNA member and Professional Standards Board chair Carmen DiGiovine, PhD, RET, SMS/ATP about the ATP certification program.

The interview will air on Friday, February 1st at 9am and 1pm ET, and then be available as an on-demand podcast on the website or through iTunes.

In the interview, DiGiovine discusses what the ATP certification program is, how to become certified, and why it is important for consumers to ask for certified assistive technology professionals.  DiGiovine is Assistant Professor, Occupational Therapy Division, The Ohio State University and Program Director and Rehabilitation Engineer, Assistive Technology Center, The Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University. He is Chair of RESNA’s Professional Standards Board, which oversees the organization’s certification programs, including the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and the Seating & Mobility Specialist (SMS) certifications.  

Assistive Technology Update is a fast-paced 30-minute weekly program for assistive technology users, professionals, and enthusiasts. It features news, question & answer segments, and interviews with thought leaders in assistive technology.  Wade Wingler, ATP, and Director of INDATA, the Indiana Assistive Technology Act program, is the producer and host.
