With several RESNA Assistive Technology Standards Committees working on initial standards or important revisions to existing standards, it is an exciting time to be involved in RESNA’s work.  RESNA is a Standards Developing Organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and this enables RESNA Standards to eventually be recognized as American National Standards, and enables work on ISO Standards to take place where appropriate.

If you join a RESNA Standards Committee, you are entitled to the following membership benefits:

  • Access to the current RESNA AT Standard(s) in your area, as well as all drafts of associated standard(s) being developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • Voting privileges on matters brought before the committee (you have a voice in shaping the evolution of the technical standards)
  • Marketplace involvement and networking with fellow experts
  • Savings on travel costs by relying on GoToMeeting conferencing for Committee meetings
  • Access to Basecamp for all Committee documents (file sharing, storage, and collaboration tools)
  • Listserv email lists for Committee correspondence
Please note that AT Standards Committee membership is different from an individual membership within RESNA, and does include RESNA member benefits such as discounts to the annual conference and a subscription to the AT Journal.

Active RESNA Standards Committees include:
