RESNA’s Professional Specialty Board Welcomes its New Chair

Effective August 1, 2019, RESNA, the Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America, Julie Piriano will be Chair of its Professional Specialty Board (PSB). She is Director of Rehab Industry Affairs at Pride Mobility Corporation and a highly proactive industry resource on legislative and regulatory issues that impact the complex rehab industry. She previously served RESNA as a member of its Board of Directors and has been a member for 20 years.

The current Chair, Brian Burkhardt, steps down after years of service. He is a Clinical Rehabilitation Engineer for the Assistive Technology Program at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA.

The PSB is charged with oversight of RESNA's certification programs, the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Seating & Mobility Specialist (SMS), and Rehabilitation Engineering Technologist (RET).
