RESNA will be offering four half-day courses during the pre-conference session of RESNA 2015 in Denver, Colorado this June. All half-day courses will be offered on Thursday, June 11 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown.  Professionals can sign up for two half-day courses, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and cover more topics.  RESNA is authorized by IACET to provide 0.35 CEUs per course.

The morning courses are:

  • Introduction to NaturallySpeaking Voice Automation - Learn to automate tasks via NaturallySpeaking custom commands to save time, energy and frustration.
  • Introduction to Desktop 3D Printing - A basic course on Desktop 3D Printing for those in assistive technology who may have thought of turning an idea or solution into a physical prototype, or for those who want to start learning about this hot, new technology.

The afternoon courses are:

  • Getting Hands-On with Microcontrollers - Participants will go hands-on with the Arduino microcontroller, learning about its components, and building and coding some projects that demonstrate capacity. There is an additional $60 Arduino kit fee, which participants will be able to take home.
  • Switch Assessment  - This course will cover assessment strategies for a myriad of available and electronic switches, a hierarchy of switch locations, and how to systematically explore various switches by product features.

The course fees are $135 for RESNA members and students, and $180 for non-members, plus any applicable kit fees.
